Difference between Single-Phase and Three-Phase Transformer

  5. Applications: Single-phase transformers are commonly used in residential and commercial applications to step down the voltage of incoming power from the utility grid, while three-phase transformers are used in industrial and commercial applications that require higher power levels.
  6. Wiring: Three-phase transformers require a more complex wiring system than single-phase transformers, as they have three coils to connect instead of two.
